Aria

She is the main character— a 17 year old teenage girl who is a student at an art school, majoring in photography. Aria struggles with depression which limits her ability to photograph since she lacks passion. She is desperate to find the purpose and muse to pursue her dream career. The way she presents herself is reflected by what’s going on in her mind; messy hair, eye bags under her eyes and dark clothing. She has a constant tired expression, slightly daydreaming.

Charlotte 

She is one of the 3 dancers on stage but is the centre of the dance. She is a 19 year old girl. She is a ballet dancer with clear technique and coveys emotions very well ; when she dances it gives of a light, enjoyable, youthful vibe. Charlotte has a youthful appearance, with a fresh, lighthearted facial  expression. She is the metaphorical expression of Arias hope, passion she is looking for the entire movie. Charlotte looks very polished and clean but not in a strict manner. She has expressive eyes to emphasise the growing passion during the dance.

Dancers

The 3 dancers on stage including Charlotte are all around 19 years old. They have a bright, light effect when dancing having a clear technique and expressive movements and facial expressions. They are all dressed in white, representing Arias hope and passion also symbolising light.

Teacher

Arias photography teacher is a 30 year old man. He is strict when it comes to handing in her portfolio on time, putting additional pressure on Aria. He is presented as a little scruffy, not caring about his appearance representing the isolation Aria feels in her depression.
